Important update for all Secret Santa participants!

Today, we discovered a bug regarding the way that Secret Santa recipient wishlists display on your Secret Santa entry page. This bug has now been fixed. However, this means that the wishlist for your recipient may have changed. Please check the Secret Santa page for the correct version of your recipient's wishlist. For clarity, this was a display issue which only affected the gift sender wherein some senders saw an outdated version of their recipient's wishlist.

This bug did not affect all wishlists; the wishlist you see may or may not have changed as of this news post and we urge everyone to double check their recipient's wishlist before continuing to work on their submissions. The wishlist that is now visible on the Secret Santa page is correct and up-to-date.

As part of our efforts to compensate for this bug, the following steps are being taken:

The Secret Santa deadline has been extended to January 25th for all entrants (regardless of if you were affected by the bug or not).
All Secret Santa participants who submit a work by January 25th will receive 2 Lumiheim Gift items, in addition to the currency value of their submission(s).

If you have begun but not submitted a submission prior to this announcement and that submission no longer follows your recipient's wishlist, we request the following actions:
- Please submit the started piece as-is to the "Secret Santa - Compensation" quest. For your efforts, you will receive the Loonoles (or Gift Tokens) that the piece is currently worth.
- If possible, please then create a piece that follows your recipient's up-to-date wishlist.
- If you cannot do both of the above for any reason, please contact us via Support Ticket as soon as possible. You will not be penalized for issues which arise related to this bug, however we want to make arrangements as early as possible for each recipient to receive a piece that matches their wishlist.
- You may also adjust your existing work to follow the recipient's wishlist, in lieue of taking the above steps. This is also acceptable, however please contact us for compensation for large adjustments and extra work done to submissions.

If you have already submitted a submission prior to this announcement and that submission no longer follows your recipient's wishlist, we will take the following actions:
- We will soon contact both the recipient and the sender via Support Ticket to request further information and establish further steps and compensation for both individuals.
- Submitters will not be penalized for issues which arise related to this bug.

Compensation for Realm Quests submitted prior to November 26th, 2022

When Realm Familiarity was expanded on November 26th, 2022, currency values for quests submitted prior to that date were not retroactively awarded as EXP. (Familiarity levels were already compensated for on feature release, but not the bonus currency associated with these submissions.)

As of today, we have issued compensation experience to all Lythians which participated in Realm Familiarity or other Realm Quests prior to that date (and had a key for the realm in question prior to the quest submission), totaling the currency value (times ten) of all pieces in which they were depicted.

This compensation experience will appear in your experience logs. Please contact us if you believe the awarded experience to be incorrect!

Holiday Dragon Breeding

Past holiday dragons are breedable from now until December 25 at 23:59 ET. During this time, past holiday dragons will be able to produce eggs of their breed, and have the potential for breeding multiple eggs (though you will only be able to keep one per pairing). This is unchanged from previous years.

The special Holiday biome is again available for the same time period (ending December 25 at 23:59 ET). In this biome, past holiday eggs will be available. Past limits on cave-based Holiday eggs still apply (the breed limits help page is updated with Holiday dragons during this time to help clarify).

New Holiday Dragon

A new holiday dragon will be available starting at 00:00 ET on December 25. It will drop for exactly three days (ending on December 27 at 23:59 ET); after this time it will no longer be available from the cave. There will be a limit of two of these eggs from the cave.

Holiday Event

This year's holiday event will begin at 12/25 at 00:00 ET (the same time as the new dragon). The Advent Calendar from last year will make a return, with a new event launching alongside from the same page. Both activities will run for two weeks. The Advent Calendar will feature new unlockables for the wreath decorating event.

From the veiled brambles and branches of the Tangled Wood, the elusive Nocturnes are beginning to spread across the realm. These oft-hidden dragons are again leaving the comfort of their dreary habitats and traversing Sornieth under the cover of darkness. On this, the shortest day of the year, Nocturne dragons rule the skies.

Night of the Nocturne is the annual celebration of one of Flight Rising's Limited breeds. Once a year, Nocturne breed change scrolls become available exclusively during this event! Nocturnes have a 30-day breeding cooldown and eat Meat and Insects.

Event Details

From now until January 1, 06:00 server time, it will be possible to obtain Nocturne Dragons in the following ways:

• Finding rare Unhatched Nocturne Eggs.
• Finding very rare Breed Change: Nocturne scroll items.

The items above will be found in Strange Chests--baffling containers left by the breed during their only two weeks of activity. Nocturnes aren't keen to just shower the realm in gifts, however. Several of these chests have a vicious mind of their own, and some are now known to be under the protection of some new clever and camouflaged foes...

In order to find these chests, participate in daily site activites such as gathering, brewing, hatching, bonding, exalting and more! ...or test your skill and battle Mimic monsters in the Coliseum. Mimics can be encountered in all Coliseum areas, with higher level mimics having a greater chance to drop a chest. New this year, all coliseum enemies will have a low chance of dropping event items, but mimics will have a much better chance than a normal opponent. If you can't battle, don't worry! Baldwin is always seeking new alchemists to help him craft the perfect brew to unlock the secrets of these chests.

It will also be rarely possible to find Unhatched Nocturne Eggs while scavenging in any elemental region.

After two weeks have passed, Nocturnes, their eggs, and their Strange Chests will become scarce until next year, when they again return.

Nocturne Lore

Engineered by the Shadowbinder herself to be covert, hidden, and adaptable, Nocturne dragons have the incredible ability mimic the sounds, motions, and behaviors of other dragons and creatures. This interesting adaptation can have its drawbacks, though. Find out more about the Shadowbinder's sneaky sentinels in the lore article below:

What's New This Year?

Another year brings new chances at unique Night of the Nocturne exclusive items! Here are some of the new items you can expect to see as part of the event. As the event has grown over so many years, we slowing new additions; you can still expect to see a modest selection of new content each year, and the return of the hoard of content from previous years!



Higgins' Haunted Hollow

Higgins Haunted Hollow is a new shop in The Grand Exchange. This shop is active for the duration of Night of the Nocturne, and includes all swipp trades, treasure marketplace, and gem marketplace items from previous years. We hope that having these items available in stock in unlimited quantities for the duration of the holiday can make Night of the Nocturne a more enjoyable experience for everyone! ...except Higgins.
