Yay!...It's Halloween and time to gather some yummy candies from everyone and hope no one plays any tricks!


All decked out in my little devil costume, I went out the door and down the sidewalk.
When out of nowhere I happened upon this glowing goo trail. Curiosity got the best of me, so I just HAD to follow it!

It was getting kind of creeeeeeeepy, as I heard noises that made me tremble to the bones. However, I JUST had to keep going, even though the area was getting very heavily treed. I crept deeper into the woods, when I recalled an old town myth of a hidden area that all the undead gathered at. Even knowing that, I still NEEDED to see what the noise was and why the goo trail was there!



I very carefully, though even a bit hesitant, kept walking, when the goo trail....just stopped! I looked around, it was dark and I was scared to DEATH!..The noises got LOUDER, I wanted to run, but couldn't.

A tiny light appeared a short ways in front of me, so I slowly walked up to it and that is when I SEEN it!.........

It was an extremely frightful and paralyzing sight!

I looked fast and then run swiftly home before anyone or thing could see me!

We've been opening up submissions for the annual Festival of Eggs and the Halloween Trick-or-Treat events to community submissions for some time now. Both events have been receiving a lot interest, so we're continuing the process this year.

All submissions must be sent via PM to @Event Art Submissions. The deadline for submissions is October 22.

Here's some base guidelines:

• Treats should be generally Halloween-themed, not just random objects.
• Size limit of 50x50px.
• Images must be submitted in PNG or GIF form.
• Treats must be pixel art, which generally means that overall color count is limited and pixels are intentionally placed. Do not use filters or anti-aliased tools such as Photoshop's paint brush.
• Treats may be animated, but should not use rapid or flashing effects.
  • Animated PNGs are allowed, but your mileage may vary.
  • The first frame of animation should be identifiable, to accommodate situations where animations are disabled.
• Semi-transparency is allowed.
• Images must not be shared publicly before the event begins.
• Images should not have blank space around the outer edges.
• Treats should not use the egg base (save those for the Festival of Eggs).
• Treats may be rejected for reasons other than those in this post—namely, there will be a general quality bar. We'll try to provide useful feedback around rejections.
• Only one submission will be accepted per-person, unless otherwise announced.
• Images must be designed to look good on a variety of backgrounds (i.e. they shouldn't assume the scroll background or any other specific color).
• If your treat is a specific reference to other media (e.g. a video game, TV show, or so on), clearly identify the reference in your submission.

There are a limited number of spots available. Art will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis which only applies when the art is deemed to meet all of the above guidelines (that is, if you need to make changes and resubmit, that bumps you to the back of the line).

By submitting art to the Trick or Treat event, you grant Dragon Cave a non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free license to host, use, distribute, modify, copy, display, and create derivative works of your content. You can end this license any time by contacting us, though the art may not be immediately deleted. The license also ends immediately upon notice from us that the art will not be used in the event.

Updates to Alternate Forms!

Updates have been made to alternate forms to make them all the more enjoyable to use!

- Now, you're freely able to modify the name of alternate form tabs, allowing you to freely designate alternate palettes or forms of the same species!
- Additionally, you can hide or delete alternate forms! Deleted forms will require a new Formula Plus (and any other relevant items) to re-obtain.
- Lastly, you can also sort the tabs as desired, if you have a specific way you'd like to organize them ("Base Form" will always display first).

These settings may be found via an "Edit" button that has been added at the end of the form list for any Lythians which have already unlocked alternate forms.

Going forward, alternate forms also now individually list subspecies, body types, and Crossbreed parent species! We will be slowly going through and fixing applicable Lythian forms to properly portray these changes, however we would greatly appreciate if users send in a Support Ticket if they would like their Lythians with alternate forms to be updated faster!

Other QOL Adjustments

- There are now random trick and treat buttons for Trick or Treating, found on the Haunted Faire 2022 Index page.
- Custom content warnings may now be added to Lythians and companions. Please note we will be moderating usage of this feature, as it is intended to warn other users about potentially uncomfortable content in a Lythian's description or design! Lythian profiles should remain PG-13 even when using this feature.
- Lythian and companion profiles now have an additional set of navigational arrow buttons. These buttons will take you through the next/last general index entries rather than the user's personal characters.
- A new achievement category, "Hidden", has been added and will be used for some retired and secret achievements. Several old achievements have been recategorized from "Event" to "Hidden".
